TELUS Invests in Waymap’s Navigation Technology
On April 9, 2024, TELUS led a £7-million funding round through its Pollinator Fund for Good to invest in Waymap, a London-based deeptech startup.
The investment will support the international expansion of Waymap’s innovative navigation technology designed to assist the visually impaired by utilizing a phone’s motion sensor and SmartStep algorithm to provide step-by-step navigation without requiring a signal.
Aaron Bains provided structuring and strategic advice to TELUS on the investment, along with leading the team in Canada and the U.K. on the investment transaction itself.
