Receiver Appointed for Gas Station Operator Following Tandia Financial Application
On December 4, 2024, Tandia Financial Credit Union Limited successfully obtained the appointment of BDO Canada Limited as receiver for 2492029 Ontario Inc., operator of a gas station and convenience store at 1371 Highway 11 North in Shanty Bay, Ontario. The appointment was made by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) under subsection 243(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and section 101 of the Courts of Justice Act.
The receivership was triggered by the debtor’s loan default, abandonment of the property, lapsed insurance and unauthorized rebranding of the station from Ultramar to Esso. The receiver is authorized to secure Tandia’s interests by taking possession, managing operations and protecting the assets.
