Shiva is a strong communicator who thrives on the complexities of corporate transactions. She is a dedicated team player and is fully committed to advancing her clients' interests and business objectives.
Shiva is a member of the firm’s Capital Markets Group and Venture Finance Group. She is a corporate lawyer focused on debt and equity financings as well as mergers and acquisitions. On debt and equity financings, she acts as counsel to venture capital funds, banks and other institutional investors with respect to cross-border lending transactions, including syndicated credit facilities, senior and subordinated/mezzanine financings, asset-based lending and venture capital/private equity investment. On mergers and acquisitions, she acts as counsel to a wide range of the firm’s clients on domestic and cross-border M&A, asset and share sale transactions, corporate restructuring and general corporate and commercial matters.

Acted for Knightstone Capital Management in the sale of a 20 per cent equity share in the CampusOne residence in Toronto, Ontario.
Represented Linamar Corporation in
its acquisition of Bourgault Industries Ltd., a leading agricultural equipment
manufacturer, for $640 million. In conjunction with the Bourgault
transaction closing, Linamar also finalized a new $700-million term loan
agreement.
Represented Linamar Corporation (TSX: LNR) in connection with its acquisition of a substantial portion of Mobex Fourth and 1, LLC’s U.S.-based assets.
Acted as Ontario and Quebec counsel to Gillfor Distribution Inc. in connection with the acquisition and financing of AFA Forest Products Inc., a leading and long-standing distributor for building products in Canada.
