Cristian is an insightful and strategic problem solver. He is
a skilled researcher with experience in commercial matters within the
insolvency space. He presents information in easily digestible formats for
clients.
Clients are confident in Cristian’s transactional and
advocacy skills, and appreciate his meticulous and detail-oriented work. He
collaborates with others to foster a multidisciplinary approach in solving
challenging legal and financial problems.
Cristian is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group.
He specializes in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings and commercial
litigation under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’
Creditors Arrangement Act. He represents various clients, including banks,
creditors and court-appointed officers. Cristian’s work in the areas of
insolvency and restructuring involves a range of proceedings, including security
enforcement and restructuring litigation.
Cristian summered and articled at Aird & Berlis before
joining the firm as an associate.
Successfully represented The Toronto-Dominion Bank in obtaining a receiver appointment for IDC Technologies (Canada).
Represented the Noteholders of The Lion’s Share Group Inc. as representative counsel in the company’s receivership proceedings.
Counsel to KSV as the proposal trustee following 125 Ferris Inc.’s filing of an NOI under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
Represented Northern Green Canada Inc., a vertically integrated Canadian licensed cannabis producer, in its sale to Curaleaf Holdings, Inc.
Successfully represented RBC in ensuring a receiver was appointed to manage the assets of Trans Emerge Transport Inc. in a $10.7-million debt case.
