Cathy is a diligent problem solver who goes the extra mile to provide efficient corporate and commercial legal advice. Drawing on her in-house experience and business background, Cathy has a strong understanding of diverse stakeholder perspectives and is skilled at providing clients with the information they need. She enjoys learning about the unique aspects of each business and is committed to building long-standing relationships with her clients.

Cathy is a member of the firm’s Corporate/Commercial Group. Her practice spans a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including business formations, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and day-to-day advice on corporate governance matters. Cathy has experience working with clients in the technology sector, including assisting start-ups and venture-backed companies raise capital. She also advises on regulatory matters, such as intellectual property licensing and development, and privacy and security compliance. 

Representative Matters

Advised the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade on all aspects of its winning bid for Volkswagen’s first overseas gigafactory, a several-billion-dollar investment that is one of the largest in Canadian history. 

Represented Pollitt & Company Inc., in connection with its brokered private placement for Playgon Games Inc., a proprietary SaaS technology company that delivers mobile, live-dealer technology to online gaming operators globally.

Assisted KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., with its US$285 million cross-border financing for HR Ottawa, L.P., in connection with the redevelopment of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
