Adam is a strong communicator who remains calm and composed in high-pressure situations. He draws on his extensive experience with conflict resolution to approach problems from multiple angles and enjoys the challenge of finding creative ways to defend his clients’ interests.

Adam is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He maintains a general litigation practice, and has experience working with clients in a range of industries.

Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Adam held leadership positions with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), including as Platoon Commander in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Adam continues to serve in the CAF on a part-time basis as Commanding Officer of The Royal Regiment of Canada.

Representative Matters

Represented Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation in a valuation proceeding to value the shares held by shareholders who dissented from a post-takeover plan of arrangement.

Represented BDO Canada in its capacity as the court-appointed receiver of 908593 Ontario Limited, operating as Eagle Travel Plaza, et al., in an insolvency proceeding commenced by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

Participated in defending a Crown corporation against certification of a class action regarding problem gambling. The original certification of the class was overturned by the Supreme Court of Canada.
