Tim Lowman Elected President of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada
On September 29, Tim Lowman was elected president of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC)
and Chair of the IPIC Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 term.
IPIC is Canada’s professional association of patent agents,
trademark agents and lawyers practising intellectual property law. Its
membership totals more than 1,700 practitioners in law firms and agencies of
all sizes, including large, medium and small professional firms, sole
practitioners, in-house corporate intellectual property professionals,
government personnel and academics. Its members’ clients include the vast
majority of Canadian businesses, universities and other entities that have an
interest in patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, confidential
information and all other forms of intellectual property in Canada or elsewhere,
as well as foreign companies that hold intellectual property rights in Canada.
Tim serves as head of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group
and is a member of its Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He has more
than 40 years of experience as counsel in intellectual property litigation and
the firm congratulates Tim on his new role with IPIC.
