Jason Madden, co-leader of the firm's Indigenous Practice Group, was featured in a recent CBA National Magazine article discussing the historic significance of the Red River Métis Self-Government Recognition and Implementation Treaty. He describes the treaty, signed on November 30, 2024, as a breakthrough for Métis recognition as distinct Indigenous Peoples under Canada’s Constitution and a step toward addressing longstanding injustices stemming from unfulfilled promises of the Manitoba Act of 1870.
