Aird & Berlis Welcomes Nine New Partners
Aird & Berlis is pleased to announce that Meaghan Barrett,
Jacob Brown, Holly Cunliffe, Alex Kagan, Amy Marcen-Gaudaur, Dasha Peregoudova,
Stefan Radovanovich, Russell Sanders and Leah Silber have become partners of
the firm.
Meaghan Barrett
is a member of the firm’s Municipal & Land Use Planning Group and
Expropriation Law Group. She assists with various municipal accountability
matters, including drafting codes of conduct and complaint procedures, and
investigating code of conduct complaints. Meaghan also represents a range of
clients in her land use planning law practice, assisting owners, developers and
applicants in obtaining various forms of development approvals.
Jacob Brown is a member of the firm’s Tax Group and Tax Controversy/Tax Litigation
Group. He has experience assisting clients in all aspects of the tax dispute
resolution process. Clients appreciate his sound judgment as well as his
dedication to resolving disputes efficiently and, wherever possible, without
litigation.
Holly Cunliffe
is a member of the firm’s Tax Group and Estates & Trusts Group. She represents
individuals and trust companies with a range of court proceedings, such as will
challenges, applications to pass attorney and trustee accounts, dependent
support claims, as well as rectification and interpretation of wills and
trusts.
Alex Kagan is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Workplace
Law Groups, assisting employers in defending a variety of employment and labour
claims. In addition to diligent advocacy, Alex leverages his experience
conducting workplace investigations, as well as drafting and implementing
employment agreements and various workplace policies.
Amy Marcen-Gaudaur is a member of the firm's Capital Markets Group. Her
practice focuses on corporate finance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions
and general corporate and commercial activities.
Dasha Peregoudova is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution,
Workplace Law, and Sports, Media & Entertainment Groups. Her practice focuses
on various employment and labour-related matters, such as drafting contracts
and policies, grievances and collective bargaining, as well as civil and
commercial actions involving employment disputes.
Stefan Radovanovich is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Construction Groups.
His practice focuses on the acquisition and disposition of commercial,
industrial and mixed-use properties, condominium development and real estate
financings, with a particular focus on land development matters. He has
extensive experience in advising on licensing, expropriations and easement
transactions.
Russell Sanders
is a member of the firm’s Capital Markets Group. His practice focuses on
corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities and general corporate
and commercial matters. Russell advises clients on equity and debt financings,
stock exchange listings, reverse takeovers, initial public offerings and public
company maintenance.
Leah
Silber is counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Group, advising some of
Canada’s largest developers on project development, acquisitions, dispositions
and financings of commercial, industrial, retail and vacant properties.
