Aird & Berlis Welcomes New Associates Adrienne Ho and Shaun F. Parsons
We are pleased to announce that Adrienne Ho and Shaun F. Parsons
have joined the firm as associates in our Financial Services Group.
Adrienne is a strategic thinker who is passionate about
solving her clients’ legal problems. She excels at distilling complex facts and
technical legal arguments into practical, business-oriented advice.
Adrienne specializes in working with stakeholders in
restructuring and insolvency mandates. She has experience with out-of-court
restructurings as well as with BIA, CCAA and cross-border proceedings across a
variety of industries. She has acted for banks, debtors and sureties, and she
was appointed Amicus Curiae in a receivership proceeding.
Adrienne is recognized for her publications related to the
practice of law. Her article, “The Treatment of Ipso Facto Clauses in Canada,”
has been cited by the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Superior Court of Quebec,
the Supreme Court of Canada (in dissent) and the Supreme Court of India in
proceedings involving insolvency matters. Adrienne also enjoys speaking about
law, having presented at the Annual Review of Insolvency Law Conference and
the Canadian Bar Association National Insolvency Law Conference.
Shaun is a practical and solution-orientated advocate. With a
background in research and drafting, he applies both an analytical and creative
lens to addressing his clients’ legal challenges. In fast-paced restructuring
mandates, Shaun is able to see the big picture and manages immediate
concerns while keeping broader goals in mind.
Shaun is experienced in complex matters, ranging from
insolvency proceedings and fraud to commercial disputes. In his insolvency
practice, Shaun acts for debtors, financial institutions, creditors, court
officers and other insolvency professionals.
Shaun is the Vice President of the Ontario Bar Association’s
Insolvency law section. His work has been published in the Journal of the
Insolvency Institute of Canada and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and
Restructuring Professional’s Rebuilding Success magazine.
