Aird & Berlis Announces New Practice Group Leaders

Aird & Berlis is pleased to announce that Adria Leung Lim, Jack Goslett, Andrea Skinner, Ethan Eisen, Aaron Bains, Meghan Cowan and Manjit Singh have taken on the following leadership positions within the firm.

Capital Markets Group

Adria Leung Lim will be working alongside Jeff Merk as Co-Practice Group Leader. Adria guides clients through a broad range of capital markets and corporate matters, including financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.

Our Capital Markets Group provides sophisticated legal advice on a wide variety of public and private capital raising and M&A transactions, as well as investment management and registration matters.

Financial Services Group

Jack Goslett steps into the role of Co-Practice Group Leader, working with Aaron Collins in this capacity. Jack specializes in advising lenders and borrowers on complex financing arrangements, including syndicated credit facilities and venture capital investments, while providing pragmatic and business-focused solutions.

Our Financial Services Group is a dynamic and responsive team of lawyers who are able to help agents, lenders, borrowers, secured parties, investors and anyone with a financial interest through any financing transaction or insolvency, restructuring or recovery proceeding.

Municipal & Land Use Planning Group

Andrea Skinner will be joining Tom Halinski as Co-Practice Group Leader. Andrea draws from her extensive experience in municipal and land use planning law to provide strategic advice for municipalities, developers and landowners on planning applications, expropriation matters and regulatory issues.

Our Municipal & Land Use Planning Group is one of the largest and most highly recognized practice groups of its kind in Canada, whose dedicated lawyers and skilled land use planners devote their practice to matters relating to municipal law, land use planning and development law.

Real Estate Group

Ethan Eisen will partner with Monty Warsh to serve as Co-Practice Group Leader. Ethan's practice involves the acquisition and disposition of real estate, joint ventures and commercial financing, serving developers, REITs, corporations and individuals involved in commercial real estate transactions.

Our Real Estate Group is one of the largest real estate practice groups in Canada, assisting clients with the purchase, sale and development of real property, leasing transactions and all types of real estate financing.

Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Aaron Bains will be the Chair of this committee. Aaron's commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in his leadership roles with organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto and the Hult Prize.

Women's Initiative Committee

Meghan Cowan and Manjit Singh will lead as Co-Chairs of this committee. With Meghan’s strong advocacy and communication skills, and Manjit’s collaborative, pragmatic approach, their leadership will champion initiatives that support equality, inclusion and professional growth for women lawyers.

Our Women’s Initiative Committee promotes the advancement of women within our firm and the legal profession by addressing the unique needs of our women lawyers, introducing supportive policies like comprehensive maternity leave and flexible work arrangements, and emphasizing mentorship, networking and collaboration with initiatives such as the Osgoode Hall Women’s Network.
