Aird & Berlis Announces New Partners

Aird & Berlis LLP is proud to announce that Meghan Cowan, Marni Pernica and Vedran Simkic have become partners of the firm.

Meghan Cowan is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, Workplace Law Group and Privacy & Data Security Group. She advises on a variety of litigation matters, with a focus on privacy and labour and employment law, including wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights and labour relations. Meghan has appeared before several tribunals and courts, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Marni Pernica is a member of the Tax Group and Estates & Trusts Group. Her practice focuses on wills, trusts, estate administration, succession planning, estate and tax litigation and related areas of tax law. Marni is a member of the OBA Trusts and Estates Section Executive, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Vedran Simkic is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, practising corporate and commercial litigation, including commercial leasing matters, construction law, labour and employment law, quasi-criminal regulatory matters, financial services litigation and residential tenancy matters. He regularly attends the Superior Court of Justice (including the Commercial List), Divisional Court, Court of Appeal for Ontario, Small Claims Court, as well as the Landlord and Tenant Board and a number of other Tribunals.
