Aird & Berlis and Aird & McBurney are grateful to have the esteemed Kimberly Murray, Office of the Independent Special Interlocutor (OSI) for Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites associated with Indian Residential Schools, present during this special webinar in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Ms. Murray will present on the OSI’s mandate, which was formed in 2022 with close collaboration between First Nations, Inuit and Métis governments, and which will result in recommendations to the federal government for establishing a legal framework addressing the respectful and culturally appropriate treatment of unmarked graves and burial sites of children at former Indian Residential Schools and associated institutions.
