Toronto-Based Startup Bubl Technology Secures $4.6 Million in Seed Funding
Earlier this month, Toronto's Bubl Technology, which has created the world's first spherical camera, called the Bublecam, announced the close of $4.6 million in seed funding led by Samsung Ventures, J-Tech Capital and other strategic investors.
This is great news for a Toronto-based startup that saw some initial difficulties after raising $350,000 from a Kickstarter campaign. Now that the initial shipments of Bublcams are out, meeting Bubl's backlogged pre-orders, the company is undergoing some organizational changes as it enters its next stage of growth. Specifically, Founder and CEO Sean Ramsay has moved to Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, while VP of Hardware, Dan Mills, will serve as interim CEO.
Bubl is a success story of CFC's IdeaBOOST, Canada's only digital entertainment accelerator.
