Shopify Announces Major Expansion in Waterloo
Ottawa-based Shopify has announced that it plans to make a significant expansion in one of Canada's largest tech sectors, Waterloo. The new office will be near the University of Waterloo campus, and renovations are planned to be complete in April, 2016.
Shopify is now a publicly-traded company (TSX:SH), and its e-commerce software allows merchants of any size to set up an online store and start getting their product to market.
Shopify plans on expanding its Waterloo operation - both in terms of personnel and infrastructure - to go from accommodating roughly 30 employees up to 300.
These new positions will be focused on Shopify Plus, Shopify's higher-tiered service for high-volume merchants.
