Warning: when walking on Parliament Hill as I was last week, smile at total strangers who appear to be under 30 – they are likely Members of Parliament. This is the youngest House of Commons ever – the average age is now under 50 – and fell a full five years following May’s election.  Even the Senate is younger, (adding to the arguments in favour of term limits or election.) The age change affects all parties in the House – the Speaker, a Conservative, is 32! (What does he plan to do when he is 55??)
